Jump Britain

In class we watched an extract from Jump Britain which is a documentary on Free Running also known as Parkour, it talks about the concept of it and how it developed explaining the teenage fascination with it, it goes on to speak to the "inventor of Free Running" in France.

What's interesting, is the use of a wide variety of camera shots used within this documentary and the way the documentary is pieced together. it still starts with a still of writing (white writing on a black background) like the very first documentary (Nanook Of The North which was bought out in 1922) so it still starts with the conventional style. It then uses camera colouring effects and fast paced shooting to get the message across of the nature of the sport.

One interesting thing I noticed about this documentary is the fact that when there is an interview with someone they never look directly into the camera lens but instead always look slightly off centre, the interviews also tend to take place in an outdoor urban environment, again to in keep with the nature of the documentary and documentary subject.
