Me, Nazir, Mathew and Josh just had a conversation about interviews and it was decided that I would be the presenter (+ voice-over) and then we would have an expert on the subject and a teenagers point of view, also an adult point of view will be needed. we also need to ensure we don't discriminate with gender, race, religion, creed etc.
Mathew will be the Director whilst Nazir and Josh are Camera Men and assistant directors as well as some young people giving their opinions on it. I will also be the Producer for the Documentary.

regrouping
Josh Holmes has now also joined our grouping making a huge group of 4!
In a way.... it's a good thing because we have so many different ideas to go off, better to have more material than less.

Fame!
I've just realised something.... all these Illuminati music videos etc. are all to do with fame!
the more famous an artist gets the more they seem to become involved with all this symbolism, whether it's to promote the Illuminati or because there is a hidden agenda within the A-Listers is something I don't know but intend to get nearer the answer in the near future

Where Did The Illuminati Begin?
Adam Weishaupt was born 6th February 1748 in Ingolstadt and died on 18th November 1830 in Gotha, Germany. He was a German philosopher and the founder of the Order of Illuminati. This being founded in 1777.He started with a group called the "Order of Perfectibilists" which was an establishment that's main goal was to abolish all the monarchies in Europe, it was built up of spies who would answer to superior spies whom they did not know.
Weishaupt's God Father Johann Adam Freiherr von Ickstatt was a major proponent to the Enlightenment and a professor at the University of Ingolstadt. The Enlightenment which was a movement of Intellectuals.
Then Weishaupt took on Masonic views and altered them to fit his own theories. He himself being a Mason. He had this idea of the "Perfect Human Being".

3 things we are going to do this week
This week I will research sound effects (voice over low effect etc.)
I will research into the illuminati and the main conspiracy points
and I will do an example storyboard based on a running order.

An Example Documentary
I came across this documentary whilst searching for illuminati documentaries on youtube, it's a series created by a group of people and it was uploaded onto youtube in january, so it's fairly recent.
I watched the first 10 and a half minutes of it, which is the first part. I didn't like it because there is no narrator hence why I had to continually watch and read the writing on the screen, not only is the narration a problem but the explanation of the songs is too long, i started to lose patience and interest even though the subject matter is interesting.
I did, however, like the special effects on the screen and the starting where there is a recorder conversation (even though it may have been made up or edited). and the eye is also very good.

Discussion on our documentary choice
After Many attempts at trying to upload this discussion that me, Mathew and Nazir had.... It has finally uploaded but only on a very poor quality, I will keep trying to upload this video in a higher resolution trying some tricks here and there, but for now it will have to do.
It's basically us talking about what we are going to do (this is when Nazir joined our group and we were still contemplating what we were going to base our documentary on) and we decided on doing a documentary about the Illuminati and The Illuminati within the music industry.

Discussion on subject
We had an addition to the group and so we decided to see what we had and what he had, and so we could decide which is the best idea.
At the end we chose one of Nazir's choices as we think it was interesting, not really done and it's something that we would be able to produce whilst enhancing our own knowledge of the subject.
The subject area being... The Illuminati.

Documentary Film Genres
Whilst researching online i found all these different genres of Documentaries:
- Animated Documentaries - combines the genres of animation and documentary
- Ethnographic Film - documentary related to the methods of ethnology
- Digital Storytelling - people with their own tools who make a story about how they live (usually under 8 minutes long)
- Docudrama - is a documentary style that features dramatized re-enactments of actual historical events
- Ethnofiction - a mixture of documentary and fiction film in the area of visual anthropology (ethno).
- Mockumentary - where fictitious events are presented in documentary format
- Mondo Film - this is an exploitation documentary film, usually talking about taboo subjects like, death, sex and portrayals of foreign cultures that have been accused of racism
- Nature Documentary - a wildlife documentary, about animals, the world and anything about nature
- Reality Film - films which have resulted from reality television
- Semi-Documentary - film, programme or book presenting a fictional story that incorporates many factual details or actual events
- Travel Documentary - documentary that describes travel in general or tourist attractions in a non-commercial way

Jump Britain
In class we watched an extract from Jump Britain which is a documentary on Free Running also known as Parkour, it talks about the concept of it and how it developed explaining the teenage fascination with it, it goes on to speak to the "inventor of Free Running" in France.
What's interesting, is the use of a wide variety of camera shots used within this documentary and the way the documentary is pieced together. it still starts with a still of writing (white writing on a black background) like the very first documentary (Nanook Of The North which was bought out in 1922) so it still starts with the conventional style. It then uses camera colouring effects and fast paced shooting to get the message across of the nature of the sport.
One interesting thing I noticed about this documentary is the fact that when there is an interview with someone they never look directly into the camera lens but instead always look slightly off centre, the interviews also tend to take place in an outdoor urban environment, again to in keep with the nature of the documentary and documentary subject.

Most Popular Documentaries of 2010
after a quite search on the International Movie DataBase Website I found that the top ten documentaries of 2010 were:
1) Inside Job
2) Senna
3) Catfish
4) Exit Through the Gift Shop
5) Jackass 3D
6) Waiting for Superman
7) Restrepo
8) The Arbor
9) The Wildest Dream
10) Cave of Forgotten Dreams
Techniques of Documentaries
Research into techniques of documentaries are really important because we have to ensure that our documentary is as professional as it can possibly be and have conventions of a real documentary
For a documentary to be believable we must use a range of camera shots and interview styles etc.
I will add another post specifically researching these but a little later.

5 minute documentary with newspaper advert
We have been given a list of briefs that we can choose from, and we (me and Mathew) have whittled the list down to either a film trailer, a documentary or a short film. In the end, we have chosen to do a documentary, in which we will have to any two of the following:
a radio trailer for the documentary
a double-page spread from a listings magazine focused on the documentary
a newspaper advertisement for the documentary
